Your First Chiropractic Consultation: What to Expect
Nervous about your first visit? Here’s exactly what happens when you walk through our doors
Stepping into a Chiropractic office for the first time can feel daunting and nerve racking, especially if you’ve never had an adjustment before or don’t know what to expect. That’s completely normal. At Adjusting to Health, we’ve designed our new patient process to be calm and welcoming. We pride ourselves on being incredibly thorough to ensure that we not only get all the right information about your condition but also to help you feel confident about the process from day one.
Your first consultation is all about discovery. We sit down and take the time to understand your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle habits, and most importantly, what you truly want out of care, your health goals. Whether it’s pain relief, improved posture, more energy, or better sleep, our job is to understand your desired outcome and get a complete picture of your health. From there, we complete a comprehensive 10-step examination process. This includes detailed digital posture scans, spinal imaging if clinically indicated, movement and balance assessments, and nervous system function testing. We’re not just looking at where it hurts, we’re looking at why it’s happening in the first place.
This isn’t a quick in-and-out appointment. It’s a deep dive into how your spine and nervous system are functioning. Many patients are surprised at how much we uncover, even when they thought their issues were “just muscular” or “from stress.” Our assessment may reveal long-standing patterns of spinal misalignment (subluxation) and compensation that have been building up for years.
Importantly. We take time to review your scans and test results with care. When you return for your second visit, we’ll walk you through a clear, personalized diagnosis and explain exactly if and how we can help you, including how long care will take, what it will involve, and how it aligns with your goals.
We aim to create a calm, evidence based and confidence inspiring experience, because your health deserves that level of respect and attention. If you’ve been thinking about Chiropractic care and want a team that takes the time to do things right, here's what to expect at your first consultation.
